WELCOME TO

50th Year Celebration Of Cooperative Ground Durga Puja Samity

Welcome to the Golden Jubilee of our beloved The Cooperative Ground Durga Puja Samity, nestled in the heart of Chittaranjan Park, Delhi. What began in 1975 as a modest neighborhood initiative has today blossomed into a grand celebration of faith, art, and unity — a legacy carried forward by generations.

For 50 years, we have remained rooted in tradition while embracing the evolving spirit of our times. Every idol, every pandal, and every prayer echoes our unwavering devotion to Maa Durga and our commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Bengal. Our pandals are not just places of worship — they are living museums of Bengal’s folk art, rural charm, and age-old rituals.

Step into a space where tradition meets togetherness. At The Cooperative Ground Durga Puja Samity, we don’t just celebrate Durga Puja — we live it with heart, harmony, and heritage.

Our Durga Puja Bhog – A Divine Offering

At our Durga Puja, Bhog is not just a meal — it’s a heartfelt offering prepared with devotion and love, under the blessings of Maa Durga herself. Devotees from across Delhi — and even beyond — come to our Pujo to partake in this sacred Prasad.

Renowned for its Quality, Quantity, and the warmth with which it is served, our Bhog is offered on eco-friendly areca nut plates, staying true to our values of tradition and sustainability.

On all three days of the Puja, thousands gather to receive this Bhog — a symbol of community, faith, and shared celebration.

The New Sindoor Khela Where Labels Don’t Matter — Only Togetherness Does

At Cooperative Ground Durga Puja, we’ve reimagined Sindoor Khela as a celebration for all women — married, single, widowed, divorced, transgender, lesbian, or sex workers.

This is a day of unity, dignity, and pride, where vermilion becomes a symbol of inclusion and sisterhood.

Let’s celebrate each other — beyond boundaries.

Maa Durga Visarjan – A Farewell with Hope

The last day of Durga Puja, known as Visarjan, marks the emotional moment when Maa Durga returns to Kailash, accompanied by her four children — Kartik, Ganesh, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. It is a day filled with mixed emotions: the sadness of her departure and the hopeful promise of her return — a wait of another 365 days.

At The Cooperative Ground Durga Puja, we have embraced a sustainable tradition. In our commitment to protect nature, we no longer immerse our idol in the Yamuna River. Instead, we perform a symbolic immersion within our Pujo grounds, honouring both our rituals and our responsibility to the environment.

As Maa leaves, she leaves behind her blessings — and a deep sense of unity, devotion, and the eternal joy of togetherness.
Ashche Bochor Abar Hobe.

Celebrating 50 Glorious Years of Devotion, Culture & Community

Our Puja is a true community endeavor. From the handmade decorations to the soulful dhunuchi naach, from the rhythmic beats of dhaak to the laughter of children during anandamela — each moment is lovingly crafted by volunteers, residents, and well-wishers who come together to create something truly magical.

In 2025, as we mark this Golden Jubilee, we are proud to present a theme that pays tribute to Sonar Kella — the iconic Golden Fort of Jaisalmer — symbolizing strength, resilience, and the golden memories we’ve built together over the decades.

Join us as we celebrate not just a festival, but a shared legacy — of art, of emotion, of community.
Here’s to fifty years of togetherness, and many more to come.
Subho Sharodiya!

Honour the Divine Through Gratitude and Contribution

In the ancient tradition of Sanatan Dharma, Dakshina represents more than just an offering — it is the heartfelt practice of gratitude. At The Cooperative Ground Durga Puja Samity, we believe that true devotion extends beyond rituals and celebrations. It lives in the spirit of giving, sharing, and uplifting the community that gathers under Maa Durga’s divine gaze.
